I'm glad it helped.

Regarding the problem you had creating the ".output" folder, you do not need to create this folder in windows explorer nor at the command line. Eclipse will create the folder automatically. So instead just type ".output\..." into the “Output folder” box on the "Flex Build Path" screen.

Regarding the need to save some properties before you could move on to setting the other properties, this is probably true. I also found that the order in which you set these properties is important and they need to be done in the order I listed. Actually I may have clicked OK after setting each one and before setting the next one too. I will verify this the next time I create a flex web app project in eclipse.

Thanks for the tutorial. Using this one and the other referenced tutorials I got everything up and running. There were two problems I ran into.

(encountered at "Add Flex Project Nature" step 7) The only way I found to name a file ".output" was through the command line. So don't try to do this while setting the properties or through Windows explorer.

(encountered at "Add Flex Project Nature" steps 5-10) I had to break things up into several steps to avoid various errors. All these settings are in the project properties.
1. Add two folders to the "Source path" in "Flex Build Path"
a) the root location of the project's flex files ("\presentation\src\main\flex2" using recommended file structure).
b) Cairngorm files (if using Cairngorm)
2. Save and exit properties.
3. Preform steps 8-10 above. Make sure default is set.
4. Save and exit properties.
5. Preform steps 5-7.

In short I was getting errors because some properties had to be set and saved before I could move on to setting other properties.
